Kapolyi Law Firm Appoints David Adamov as Head of Competition and Compliance Group
As of 1 January 2026, Kapolyi Law Firm has appointed dr. Dávid Adamov as the Head of its Competition Law team and as the professional lead of the firm’s compliance services. David brings more than 18 years of experience in competition law, compliance, commercial law and intellectual property law, supporting both domestic and international corporate clients.
He previously held senior roles at leading international law firms, including Baker McKenzie and Schönherr Attorneys at Law, where he managed multi-jurisdictional competition and compliance matters and contributed to legal due diligence in M&A transactions.
David also brings significant in-house experience: as an Assigned Compliance Officer at MOL Group, he was responsible for commercial, antitrust, consumer protection and data protection–related compliance matters across six countries. He led risk management and audit-type compliance projects and delivered training to more than 500 employees annually.
Later, he continued his career as an independent attorney, providing business-focused competition and compliance advisory services. His work included designing complex compliance frameworks, operating whistleblowing channels, and representing both large corporations and SMEs before the Hungarian Competition Authority.
His sector experience spans a wide range of industries, including energy, construction, telecommunications, FMCG, automotive, e-commerce and innovative healthcare services.
David is also an active lecturer and author: he has delivered lectures on competition law, ESG compliance systems, corporate governance and integrity at several Hungarian universities, and developed and taught the “Compliance in Practice” course at the Law Faculty of Károli Gáspár University. His publications have appeared, among others, in Legal 500 and CEE Legal Matters, focusing on regulatory compliance and corporate sustainability due diligence.
